Phuket Cricket
Cricket is a growing sport in Thailand and is fast becoming popular in Phuket, thanks to the efforts of the Phuket Cricket Union who have helped develop the sport over the last five years. Currently, there are Senior and Junior leagues run on the island as well as tours and tournaments which run throughout the year.
It is the intention of Phuket International Academy Sports, Arts and Wellness Centre (PIASAWC) to develop cricket in Phuket , with the support of the PIASAWC Sports Director Martyn Ware, Ex Surrey CCC, and PIA Day School Executive Chairman, Lister Hannah. Lister was previously the headmaster of the international school which featured Thailand's first Cricket Academy. PIASAWC want to take Cricket in Phuket to the next level and have already featured cricket in their sports and arts camps, and plan to have a junior club up and running in the future. PIASAWC's plan is to host local and regional competitions and be an off season training site for teams from across the world.
